Too Good for Drugs & A Peaceable Place – Grade 4

Too Good for Drugs & A Peaceable Place in Grade 4 lays the groundwork for safe and drug-free living through a fun and interactive journey of setting reachable goals, communicating effectively, and making responsible decisions. 

This bundle of Too Good for Drugs and A Peaceable Place includes all three lesson units for Grade 4 including the core Self-efficacy and Interpersonal Skills Development Unit, Substance Use Prevention Unit, and Violence Prevention Unit in a single 15 lesson adaptation.

Students embark on a canoe trip to discern positive and negative friendship qualities and take on super powers as Captain Funderwear and Princess Glitter Blast to learn the dangerous consequences of unsafe use of prescription medications.

Other activities include an A-mazing maze to identify the steps to making good decisions, a car race to find healthy ways to manage emotions, and role-plays for mastering peer-pressure refusal strategies.

In “The Race is On” game, students practice healthy ways to identify and manage emotions and in “Canoe be My Friend?” they learn the characteristics of positive friendships. In Friendship Files, students practice the skills they’ve developed throughout the course, promoting positive prosocial norms for a stronger classroom community. 

Home Workouts and cross-curricular activities follow each lesson so students can practice and apply the concepts developed in each lesson at home and with their peers.

The Grade 4 Curriculum Kit is available in two sizes.

• Standard Curriculum Kit – for classrooms of up to 24 students. 
• Large Curriculum Kit – for classrooms of up to 30 students.
